International Year of the Bird concert at the Louisville Center for the Arts this Sunday Oct 14 at 3 pm.
This will be a multifaceted event featuring poetry, visual media, and classical, bluegrass, folk and jazz songs about and inspired by …Birds! Laurie Amodeo and Scott Martin are performing the beautiful Jobim tune Passarim along with Emma Shubin, flute, Kat Fritz, viola, and Andy Reiner, violin, along with other fun stuff. Reggie Berg’s evening of solo piano will contain original material from his solo piano album, “My Spoken Heart;” improvisations on selected “Anniversaries” by Leonard Bernstein, music from the Pixar film, “Coco,” and a few solo piano arrangements paying homage to the modern-day eclecticism of Postmodern Jukebox. There will be at least one piece that requires audience participation, resulting in something completely spontaneous.

Nathaniel at Marmoset placed one of Masterful Musicians, Jonathan David Barlow’s, tracks in a documentary called Transmilitary which is premiering at SXSW film fest, Saturday!! Jonathan is headed to Austin to brave the lines to get a seat at the premiere. It’s an honor to contribute in a small way to such a worthwhile film!
